Amy LaiCo-President/Executive Committee Member
Amy has over 24 years’ experience in trading and structuring in interest rates, equities, emerging markets, and credit derivatives. She began her career at J.P. Morgan in 1989 in fixed income derivatives, where she traded interest rate swaps and options and ran the U.S. dollar swaps book in 1993 – 1994. From 1994 to 1996, she was the Head of Emerging Markets Derivatives Trading at Lehman Brothers. In 1996, she returned to J.P. Morgan, where she was responsible for marketing and structuring equity derivatives. From 1998 to 2000, Amy was co-head of trading for Latin America and Asia credit derivatives for Deutsche Bank in London. In 2000, she became a partner with Emergent Capital, a US equity hedge fund, responsible for its public equity portfolio. Prior to joining Gottex in 2006, she was a Portfolio Manager at the Clinton Group, responsible for credit arbitrage and capital structure trading in the investment grade and high yield markets. At Clinton Group, she was also Co-Head of Risk Management from 2004 – 2005. Amy graduated magna cum laude from Barnard College with a BA in Economics, and is a CFA charter holder.
George O'DowdCo-President/Executive Committee Member & Chief Compliance Officer
George has over 25 years’ experience in the structured finance market, specialising in credit derivatives and mortgage-backed securities in the US. Most recently, he was head of structured credit trading for the NY office of Nomura Securities with responsibility for structuring and distributing CDO and CPPI product. Prior to that, George was the NY head of Credit Trading for Commerzbank. He has worked on arbitrage and bank balance sheet CDOs at J.P. Morgan and was part of the group that developed the first securitisation of CDS at Swiss Bank in 1997. Previously, George was involved with US mortgage-backed securities structuring and investing at Alliance Capital and Hyperion Capital Management in NY. George has both a BSc and an MSc in Management Science from the MIT Sloan School of Management. George joined Eden Rock in May 2007, he is an investment committee member and oversees all US activities of the firm as well as ERG Asset Management.
Peter CejasManaging Director
Peter has over 14 years’ of experience in investment management; securities; international corporate finance; mergers and acquisitions; and general corporate law. Prior to joining ERG, he served as ABL Portfolio Manager and legal counsel for Weston Capital Management, focusing primarily on the divestiture of a $150M portfolio of illiquid assets. Prior to that, Peter served as General Counsel to U.S. and LATAM focused hedge funds and financial institutions. Peter began his career practicing with a boutique law firm specialising in offshore variable insurance products and later at Morgan, Lewis & Bockius LLP where he represented U.S. and non U.S. investment advisers and private and international investment funds, including hedge funds, private equity funds, mezzanine funds, emerging market funds and non U.S. mutual funds. Peter holds a BS in Managerial Economics from the University of California at Davis, a JD from Golden Gate University School of Law and an MBA from the Thunderbird School of International Management.
Eric KamisherManaging Director
Eric has more than 25 years’ of experience and for over a decade he has served as Managing Partner and Chief Investment Officer of Whitecap Advisors LLC. Whitecap is the investment manager to a number of credit hedge funds focused on direct collateralised lending and asset backed investment products (over $2B of transactions since 2002). Eric has overseen all aspects of the firm’s asset origination, underwriting, structuring, investment monitoring, workouts and portfolio risk management. He has directly originated, structured, and executed a wide range of transactions across many asset classes, including real estate, consumer finance and corporate finance. Prior to founding Whitecap, Eric served as Managing Director of Aurum Capital, a venture capital firm focused on early stage technology investments. Aurum’s portfolio included investments in over 30 companies across the information technology, media and healthcare sectors. Eric began his career as a corporate finance attorney at the firm Curtis, Mallet-Prevost, Colt & Mosle in New York City. He serves on the Board of the Fairfield Theatre Company. Eric was a Lehman Graduate Fellow at Columbia University’s School of International Affairs and received his JD from the University of Denver.
Guy LockeSenior Advisor/Manager
Guy was a Partner with Walkers, attorneys at law in the Cayman Islands, and was head of its Global Insolvency and Restructuring Group for over 10 years. Guy has considerable experience in distressed funds situations, having acted for Long Term Capital in their 1998 restructuring, through to more recent cases arising out of the global financial crisis of 2007/8, such as the Bear Stearns High-Grade and Enhance Leverage funds, Sphinx and Lehman Brothers. As such he has first hand legal and practical experience of dealing with portfolio illiquidity issues arising from market and structural situations. Guy has also acted in a number of other high profile bankruptcies and restructurings such as Enron, Parmalat and Asia Cell.
Lauren ZaneHuman Resources Director
Lauren has over 13 years’ of experience in HR and Office Management within the financial services industry. Prior to joining ERG Asset Management LLC, she was the Human Resources Director at a $1.2B hedge fund located in Connecticut. During her tenure there, she was responsible for the implementation of HR policies and objectives, employee relations, recruiting and organisational development. Lauren is a former employee of UBS Financial Services, where she served as a Branch Technology Liaison and Client Service Associate. Lauren has a BS in Business from the University of Phoenix.
Stacie is a Certified Public Accountant and has over 15 years in the financial services industry, primarily in alternative assets. She started her career at PWC in tax services, specializing in the taxation of hedge funds and private equity funds. She then became the Assistant Controller for a family office, with over $1.5 billion in AUM, invested in both hedge funds and private equity. Subsequently, Stacie became the Controller at Guggenheim Advisors, LLC and later Guggenheim Fund Solutions, LLC, both managed account platforms providing transparency to investors. In her roles at Guggenheim, she oversaw the entire audit process for the funds, including review of the audited financial statements in accordance with U.S. GAAP and federal and state tax returns. She also performed all aspects of accounting for the management company, including internal reporting, audit and tax. Stacie graduated magna cum laude from the University of Connecticut and earned an MBA from the Johnson School of Business at Cornell University.
